Being a freelancer has a lot of perks. You can make your own hours, work from home (or anywhere else in the world), and take on as much or as little work as you want. But one downside is that it can be tough to predict how much money you’ll bring in each month. If you’re looking for ways to add a little (or a lot) of extra cash to your freelancing income, read on for some tips.

1. Fiverr

Fiverr is a great way to monetize just about any skill you have. From design and programming to SEO and social media marketing, there’s someone out there who’s willing to pay you $5 (or more) for your services. Once you complete a gig, payment is made through PayPal.

2. Upwork

If you’re looking for long-term projects, Upwork is a great option. You can browse through thousands of different job postings, and proposals start at just $5 per project. Once you complete the project and the client approves it, money is deposited into your Upwork account which can then be transferred to PayPal.

3. Craigslist

While it’s not the most glamorous option, selling things you no longer need on Craigslist can be a quick and easy way to make some extra cash. Just be sure to meet in a public place and take safety precautions when dealing with strangers.

4. Taking online surveys

There are tons of companies out there who are willing to pay for your opinion on their products or services. Sites like Survey Junkie will give you points for each survey you complete which can then be redeemed for gift cards or Paypal cash. It won’t make you rich, but it’s an easy way to make some extra spending money.

5. Renting out a room on Airbnb

If you have an extra room in your house or apartment, why not rent it out on Airbnb? You can set your own price and schedule, and guests will pay through the Airbnb site before they arrive. After they check out, Airbnb will deposit the money into your account which can then be transferred to PayPal or your bank account. Just be sure to follow Airbnb’s guidelines and safety Tips for hosts before renting out your space.

6. Selling handmade goods on Etsy

Do you knit, sew, or make jewelry? If so, Etsy is a great platform for selling your handmade goods. You’ll need to set up an Etsy account and create a listing for each item you want to sell including title, description, photos, price, etc.ā€”but once that’s done potential buyers from all over the world will be able to find and purchase your items 24/7 . Etsy handles all payment processing so all you need to do is sit back and wait for the orders to come rolling in!
